Housekeeper's Box
This is a list of all the items I use when cleaning. I’m asked all the time, so I thought a list is easier.
- Tesco all purpose cleaning cloths (tesco, please not value or on roll – too small!) Or yellow square cloths (spontex) or cellulose, either washable.
- Spongy scourers
- Wirey scourers
- Soap pads, any make (eg Brillo)
- E cloths / kitchen roll / old pillowcase / old t shirt (for glass, dusting)
- Washing up liquid
- Bicarbonate of soda
- General all purpose cleaner ie (bathroom / kitchen power / Cif cream / ecover)
- Glass cleaner (Mr Muscle - it’s the best!)
- Sparkle polish, any make (with silicone for mats and coasters, without for furniture, if you prefer?)
- Feather duster
- Dish brush
- Scrubbing brush
- Broom, dustpan & brush, vacuum cleaner, mop & bucket
- Washing up bowl.
- Milton liquid, squirty bottle, Milton tablets (in baby aisle or this can be supplied for £5)

Tip: Did you know, if you use a spray polish, i.e. sparkle, with silicone frequently, this gives good protection against the tops of your drink mats/coasters getting damaged with liquid marks that form around the edge.
